These classes are suitable for jewelry artists at all levels, as well as those at the beginner level, and use Marilyn’s unique jewelry kit designs and her step-by-step illustrated instructions.

  • Every class offers metal choices that include Argentium Silver, Sterling Silver, Silver Filled, Jewelers Bronze, Copper, Faux Gold, and Black Enamelled Copper projects.
  • All classes emphasize careful work habits and professional-looking work. We’ll discuss how to locate related sources & resources, and we’ll think about creative options for future projects that build on the skills you are learning.
  • Kits include step-by-step instructions that are clearly illustrated with photos.
  • Kits also include saw-cut, hardened jump rings that we make ourselves and carefully polish.

Skill Levels:

  • Beginner means just that—I assume that you have never made a chainmail project.
  • Beginner Plus means that you have previously completed a few chain mail projects.
  • Intermediate means that you have previously completed several chain mail projects.
  • Advanced means that you have previously completed several chain mail projects of increasing difficulty.

What to Bring:

Each class has its own supply kit that you’ll pick up at the class. Bring magnifiers/glasses for close-up work. Pliers designed for chain mail will be provided for class use but you may bring your personal tools.

Druid Rope Bracelet  (Intermediate)

If you are looking for an awesome and substantial bracelet—this is it. It is round, dense, and sure to please. This weave combines elements of the Roundmaille and Turkish Roundmaille weaves.

Students will learn: The focus will be on learning the Druid Rope chainmail weave. We will review tools, resources, and develop chainmail skills.

Skill Level: Intermediate

Pre-requisite: Completion of several previous chainmail projects

Tools designed for chain mail will be provided for class use but you may bring your personal tools.
Bring magnifiers for close-up work.

The kit includes step-by-step, illustrated instructions, 1 main size of jump ring in two metals, temporary starter jump rings, plastic canvas, and a coordinating toggle clasp.
There are sufficient rings for a 9-inch silver bracelet. All rings are saw-cut and polished.

Orc Weave Bracelet  (Advanced)

Orcs are creatures from fantasy fiction—but this openwork bracelet is fantastic to behold and wear. You may find it challenging to build and control each unit as you link them together.

Students will learn: The focus will be on learning the Orc chainmail weave. We will review tools, resources, and develop chainmail skills.

Skill Level: Advanced

Pre-requisite: Completion of several previous projects of increasing difficulty.

Tools designed for chain mail will be provided for class use but you may bring your personal tools.
Bring magnifiers for close-up work.

The kit includes step-by-step, illustrated instructions, 2 main sizes of jump rings, and a coordinating toggle clasp.
There are sufficient rings for a 9-inch bracelet. All rings are saw-cut and polished.

Garter Belt Bracelet  (Beginner Plus)

Think sexy, sultry and feminine! The curvy pattern of this weave creates a flat, stylish bracelet that is fun to wear.

Students will learn: The focus will be on learning the Garter Belt chainmail weave. We will discuss tools, resources, and develop basic chainmail skills.

Pre-requisite: Completion of a couple of previous projects.

Tools designed for chain mail will be provided for class use but you may bring your personal tools.
Bring magnifiers for close-up work.

The kit includes step-by-step, illustrated instructions, 3 main sizes of jump rings, and a coordinating toggle clasp.
There are sufficient rings for a 9-inch bracelet. All rings are saw-cut and polished.

Fire Wyrm Bracelet  (Advanced)

I love wearing this bangle-like bracelet, and it attracts love and admiration wherever it travels. It is a variation of the Full Persian weave, and is named after a mythical creature connected to battles, dragons and fire.

Students will learn: The focus will be on learning the Kinged Vipera Berus chainmail weave. We will review tools, resources, and chainmail skills.

Pre-requisite: Completion of several previous projects of increasing difficulty. Knowledge of Full Persian 6 in 1 weave.

Tools designed for chain mail will be provided for class use but you may bring your personal tools.
Bring magnifiers for close-up work.

The kit includes step-by-step, illustrated instructions, 2 main sizes of jump rings, and a coordinating snap clasp.
There are sufficient rings for a 9-inch bracelet. All rings are saw-cut and polished.
